Support the Davis Street Community Center
Dedicated to helping low-income families from her headquarters in San Leandro, California, Rose Padilla Johnson has also supported charitable efforts abroad, including participating in the Faces of Hope project in Guatemala. Since 1991, Rose Padilla Johnson has served as the CEO of the Davis Street Community Center, Inc., in San Leandro.
The Davis Street Community Center provides integrated services in healthcare and other areas to enhance the lives of people with low-income backgrounds. Through the years the center has pioneered several programs that develop its clients’ strengths, empowering them to help themselves. These programs range from childcare development centers to nutrititional cooking classes.
As a non-profit organization, the Davis Street Community Center relies on generous donors to support its programs. Donations are tax-deductible and may be made online at davisstreet.org. The center also accepts vehicle donations in partnership with Volunteers of America and cell phone donations through a partnership with Shelter Alliance. In addition, pharmacies and manufacturers can donate pharmaceutical items directly to the center.
